About this deal

Captain Picard's belief that the Enterprise-D would not be the final ship to bear the name was borne out with the christening of the Sovereign-class USS Enterprise-E in 2372. In that instance, the legacy of the Enterprise continued with Picard reprising his role as CO and selecting most of the former crew from the Enterprise-D, with the notable exception of Worf due to his most recent assignment to DS9. Some of those lounges were seen in the first season, including a small four-person lounge in “Encounter at Farpoint” (which was a redress of Dr Crusher’s office) and a Starboard Lounge in the episode “Justice” (for which the crew quarters’ set was used). Despite resistance due to budget and time, Star Trek: Picard executive producer Terry Matalas insisted on the Enterprise appearing in the show's third season (2023): he said they could not "have a Star Trek: The Next Generation reunion without [...] the Enterprise." There was not much construction information available for production designer Dave Blass and art director Liz Kloczkowski to recreate the bridge set, and they created a wall of set photos and screen captures for reference. Blass hired Denise and Michael Okuda, from the Next Generation production team, to assist. Construction of the bridge set took three months and involved approximately 50 people. The large wooden arch in the middle of the bridge was the most difficult part of the build, but remaking the chairs and recreating the carpet was also challenging. Changes in cameras and cinematography required a new approach to lighting the set. [32] Depiction [ edit ] Bridge stations as seen at Star Trek Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton At over two-feet long, the complete model is an exacting replica of the iconic starship from Star Trek: The Next Generation. The legendary Dan Curry, VFX producer on The Next Generation, as well as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise, says that this “beautiful model” was “such good quality that we could have used it for some of the shots we created for The Next Generation. Nowadays visual effects are mostly done with CG. This reminds me of the incredible models we used to work with for traditional effects, which were built by master craftsmen.”

In 1986, work began on a new Star Trek television series (The Next Generation). It was originally to be set one hundred years on from the events in the original 60’s show, although that was later reduced to eighty five years on. In December of 86, Andrew Probert was hired as the senior illustrator and was to be chiefly responsible for designing the interiors of the new starship Enterprise. To help serve as inspiration, he brought along some illustrations he’d made some years earlier (just for his own amusement), of a futuristic version of the Enterprise, designed the way he thought it should look. He was bothered by a number of things on the original Enterprise, not least of which was the mish-mash of design cross-sections. He attempted to unify his design by going with a sculpted ovoid theme. I'm releasing this model "CC-BY-NC-SA". I personally don't care if you use this commercially, but Paramount Pictures might feel differently:) I do ask that you credit me - either "Kuhn Industries" or "Chris Kuhn" is fine. The Playmates toy of the alternate future Enterprise was described as a ship capable of transwarp velocities. [3] Destruction at Veridian III [ ] The new Enterprise retains the hallmarks of Matt Jefferies' design for the original Enterprise: a saucer section, engineering section, and a pair of engine nacelles. [13] Probert did this in part to assuage skeptical fans who were concerned about the original Enterprise being "replaced". [15] The design instead shifted placement and proportion: for example, the saucer section was enlarged and the warp nacelles shifted lower. [16] Slanting the nacelle support pylons forward conveyed a sense of intense forward movement. [16] The July 1987 issue of Starlog included the first public depictions of the ship. [13]

The company behind the long-running Official Starships Collection has expanded to their next level of Star Trek model: a do-it-yourself, extra-large build of the hero Next Generation starship — the Galaxy-class USS Enterprise-D! A few years before 2383, a Romulan battle cruiser had drifted into Federation space. The ship's warp coils had collapsed and life support was failing. The Enterprise rescued the crew. Riker was the key spokesman in securing an alliance with the Romulans, who were impressed with his efforts at saving one of their ships. In the sixteen years between 2367 and 2383, the Enterprise saved all the colonists in the Fornax Disaster.

Based on a careful study of the different studio models used in filming, the model replicates every last detail of the U.S.S. Enterprise-D, from its phaser strips and RCS thrusters to the Captain's yacht, including: They should finish Stage 9 – on the basis that it is not about profit, but about love for the show that Roddenberry loved, worked on, and inspired. John (Jul 11, 2021) In the anti-time past of 2363 and 2364, the Enterprise was not sent to Farpoint Station, but instead was diverted to investigate the anomaly, which was feared to be a new Romulan presence. In this time period, Picard did not inform his crew of his time shifts, worrying that it may influence the future. The Enterprise underwent its first baryon sweep at the Remmler Array in 2369. A stronger field was needed due to the Enterprise's heavy use of warp drive. During the sweep, a mercenary group nearly stole dangerous trilithium resin from the warp core, but was thwarted by the Enterprise senior staff. ( TNG: " Starship Mine") Ben Robinson on the Return of the STAR TREK ‘Build The ENTERPRISE-D’ Model Subscription at TrekCoreNOTE: All of the textures were created by me. They are "Fan Art" for sure, but they aren't stolen :) Depending on the size of the model (some these models will be over 4 feet long) Some; sub-assembly and slight touch up of paint at the joint areas may be required . In another alternate timeline, following the disappearance of the USS Enterprise-C, and the destruction of the Klingon outpost at Narendra III, relations between the Federation and the Klingon Empire deteriorated into war. I’m still having some texture problems, mostly having to do with known .fbx problems. For example, the layered textures (“NCC-1701 D” etc.) aren’t masking right; it’s just because .fbx doesn’t properly translate the alpha channel infro from the .c4d file. Also, the depth of the bump-maps is way off (at least, it doesn’t look the way it does in your excellent renders here); that’s something I should be able to fix myself without too much trouble. (The lights are too bright, too; same remarks. Judging by your renders its a translation issue).
